Popular fragrances are often available online at a lower price than those for sale in traditional bricks and mortar stores. Lower overheads and a greater capacity for storage, mean that online retailers can often offer a larger choice of big brand perfumes, at very competitive prices.Â
Whatever the occasion, perfume can prove to be the ideal gift. As long as you receive the genuine article, and not a cheap fake, then designer perfume is perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine’s and at Christmas. Just be sure to bear in mind that old adage; ‘if it looks too good to be true it probably is’. If you find your favourite fragrance at considerably less than the recommended retail price, be wary; it could be an imitation, and is best avoided.
Although the internet is a great place to look for fragrance bargains, it’s wise to shop safely. When buying perfume, there are two main risks to consider. The first is that it’s an unscrupulous company who will take your money and fail to deliver your goods, and secondly, it is a company who are in serious financial trouble and about to go bust!
The good news however, is that by taking certain precautions you can successfully purchase fragrances online, saving money and a trip to the shops in the process.
If you buy your perfumes using a Visa, MasterCard or Amex credit card or any debit or charge card and your goods don’t appear, you can ask your bank/card provider to reclaim the cash from the seller’s bank; just make sure that you complain within 120 days of realizing there’s a problem.
Check that the website is legitimate. There are occasionally bogus perfume websites set up specifically to dupe unsuspecting buyers, so it pays to check on Google first to find out what other consumers have to say about the company you have in mind, before you part with your hard earned cash.
